Learn About Central Tyre Service Pty Ltd in Shepparton

The Early Days

Central Tyre Service Pty Ltd started with a casual conversation in 1950 between neighbours Ian Crosby and Bill McKendrick. In 1952, they offered Goodyear Tyre Rubber Co. £200 and started the business in a tin shed on Fryers Street. Within six years, they outgrew their shed and moved to their current site on Welsford Street.

Director Changes

In 1962, the partnership that started the business dissolved and the company was almost sold. Luckily, Jack Kelly from Goodyear saved the business and became one of its three directors. They led the company to further growth. Over time, after several changes in directors, our small company was managed by locals again.

Today, 60 years from our company's founding, we strive to offer the best of a local, well-established business. We honour and respect our founders and our path to success by providing great service to our customers.
